The Program in Near and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Basel is pleased to announce the 9th annual MUBIT Doctoral Workshop in Late- and Post-Ottoman Studies. The workshop is a two-day, intensive course intended for select international doctoral students, who are entitled to 3 ECTS credits upon successful completion.

This year, we are thrilled to host Dr. Berk Esen of Sabancı University in Istanbul. Dr. Esen, a scholar of comparative politics and a regular commentator on Turkish affairs, will lead a workshop on the topic of “Contemporary Turkish Politics.” The 2021 workshop will be held between 10-11 December 2021 at the University of Basel. The deadline for applications is 26 September 2021.
