The RAN (Radicalization Awareness Network) has published a Manual called: ‘Responses to returnees: Foreign terrorist fighters and their families’ * July 2017 * The manual includes a list of practitioners’ recommendations on tackling the challenges linked to returning foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs) and their families. It also presents case studies from around Europe, as well as practices currently in place.
Manual in English, French, and German.
The chapters cover:
- risk assessment and multi-agency cooperation;
- prosecution and imprisonment;
- resocialisation of returnees in society;
- child returnees;
- crosscutting issues (gender and communication).
